Highspire Cardigan PATTERN

Designs/Patterns

Our original patterns marry simple construction to sophisticated design.

A Liverpool Yarns hand knit creation shows equally well on a hike in the Lehigh Valley or on a stroll through Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia.

We name our patterns after Pennsylvania towns in homage to our many fellow Pennsylvania knitters and to the state's wool and fiber processing industry.

All patterns available as digital downloads.

Yarn: Liverpool Worsted

Needle: US size 7 (4.5mm) needle for body and US size 5 (3.75mm) needle for ribbing.

Gauge: 18 sts and 24 rows = 4" in Waffle Stitch and 6 x 1 ribbing

Yardage: 920 (1015, 1120, 1235, 1360, 1500) yards

Designed to be a classic cardigan with modern details, the Highspire Cardigan begins with a twisted rib, changes to a wide rib for the back fabric, a waffle stitch for the fronts, and simple Stockinette stitch for the sleeves. Meant to be worn with comfortable ease, the collar can be buttoned up as a turtle neck or left unbuttoned for varying depths of v-necks.

The sample is shown in Nest 2016.

US size 7 (4.5mm) and size 5 (3.75mm) needles, seven removable stitch markers, and seven 7/8" or 1" buttons are the tools you will need for this sweater.
