Lykens Pullover

Designs/Patterns

Our original patterns marry simple construction to sophisticated design.

A Liverpool Yarns hand knit creation shows equally well on a hike in the Lehigh Valley or on a stroll through Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia.

We name our patterns after Pennsylvania towns in homage to our many fellow Pennsylvania knitters and to the state's wool and fiber processing industry.

All patterns available as digital downloads.

Needles: US size 7 (4.5mm) 24", 32" or 40" circular needle for body (depending on size sweater), or size needed to obtain gauge. Set of US size 7 (4.5mm) double pointed needles, or gauge size. US size 7 (4.5mm) 16" circular needle for neck (optional)

Gauge: In Stockinette st, 18 sts and 27 rounds = 4". In Slipped Stitch, 18 sts and 34 rounds = 4"

Inspired by our Lykens Hat, the Lykens Pullover is a classic shape that is updated with a modern high/low hemline. The contrast between the slip stitch honeycomb on the front and Stockinette stitch on the back creates the gentle curve of the hem (no short rows required).

The sweater is worked in the round from the bottom up; the sleeves are worked and then joined to the body for the yoke shaping.

The sweater is designed to fit with 1-2" of ease. The sample is shown in 33.75" chest with 2" of ease.

The sample is shown in Faun (Main Color) and Silt (Contrast Color).

In addition to needles, you will need removable stitch markers: 2 in Color A, 3 in Color B; and a yarn needle.
